Job Description BAE Systems is looking for a Modeling and Simulation Architect to support a military training program. The Modeling and Simulation Architect will work with a team of engineers, training developers, modeling & simulation experts, and instructors to deliver an integrated technical training solution to the military customer. The position is hybrid and will require at least 3 days per week in the office. The successful candidate will have a combination of military modeling and simulation expertise, engineering knowledge, and business strategy experience. Job Tasks:<ul style="margin-bottom:11px"><li style="margin-left:8px">Modeling and Simulation Architecture:<ul style="list-style-type:circle"><li style="margin-left:8px">Design scalable, secure, and cost-effective architecture solutions for the military application of modeling and simulation including: wargaming, training, education, exercises, and planning.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Research and recommend modeling and simulation tools and methods for modeling and simulating aggregate air and joint campaigns from the tactical to operational levels, to include all seven warfighting functions: Command and Control, Maneuver, Fires, Intelligence, Logistics, Force Protection, and Information/Cyber.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Lead the integration and deployment of constructive modeling and simulation tools, and assist in their employment.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Serve as a modeling and simulation expert and resource for the organization on military campaign modeling and live, virtual, constructive (LVC) integration.</li></ul></li><li style="margin-left:8px">Engineering Management:<ul style="list-style-type:circle"><li style="margin-left:8px">Lead engineering design and review processes, serving as the Engineering Management resource</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Develop detailed design and development documentation, including an Engineering Management Plan, and track and maintain progress through a series of design reviews</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Represent the program in monthly Technical Interface Meetings with the customer</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Manage requirements and track changes in a master database</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Maintain a Quality Management System</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Present engineering project solutions to leadership and customers with confidence and credibility. Produce written content that is clear and compliant with contract and company process requirements. </li><li style="margin-left:8px">Build and maintain strong relationships across business development, capture, engineering and finance. </li></ul></li><li style="margin-left:8px">Engineering Execution:<ul style="list-style-type:circle"><li style="margin-left:8px">Oversee software and hardware procurement</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Drive system integration work involving off-the-shelf and developmental software and hardware, overseeing all components of this effort </li><li style="margin-left:8px">Oversee system test planning and system tests; ensure all testing is scheduled and occurs </li><li style="margin-left:8px">Oversee and review test result reporting, and ensure all necessary documentation and metrics are captured </li><li style="margin-left:8px">Develop engineering timelines and tracking project progress</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Oversee system configuration management</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Oversee the drafting of Technical and Operator Manuals for the continued maintenance and operation of the system</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Oversee end-user training and technical support </li></ul></li><li style="margin-left:8px">Business Strategy<ul style="list-style-type:circle"><li style="margin-left:8px">Contribute to development of business strategy for follow-on and adjacent work</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Drive opportunities to expand work beyond current contracts </li><li style="margin-left:8px">Recommend and insert modeling and simulation solutions and methods into new business solutions as appropriate</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Drive any future proposal efforts as the technical lead for the integrated solution narrative </li><li style="margin-left:8px; margin-bottom:11px">Contribute technical expertise and writing inputs for proposals</li></ul></li></ul>Travel:<ul style="margin-bottom:11px"><li style="margin-bottom:11px; margin-left:8px">This role requires domestic and international travel.</li></ul>Required Education, Experience, & Skills Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or systems engineering and 10+ years of experience in defense/aerospace systems engineering, solution architecture, or technical leadership. Required Skills: <ul style="margin-bottom:11px"><li style="margin-left:8px">Modeling and Simulation for military end-users: constructive, aggregate campaign-level combat models for military forces</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Engineering process management</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Architecture design and development</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Program engineering planning and execution</li><li style="margin-left:8px">High-Level Architecture (HLA) for communications</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px; margin-left:8px">Customer and team communications</li></ul>General Skills: <ul style="margin-bottom:11px"><li style="margin-left:8px">Understanding of system integration, system administration, system testing, and configuration management</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Project and schedule planning </li><li style="margin-left:8px">Technical writing</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px; margin-left:8px">Briefing development and presentation</li></ul>Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills Master's or PhD degree in engineering, computer science, or systems engineering Preferred Skills:<ul style="margin-bottom:11px"><li style="margin-bottom: 11px; margin-left: 8px;">Experience working with military customers in wargaming, training, education, exercises, and planning</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px; margin-left:8px">Familiarity with air and joint military operations</li><li style="margin-bottom: 11px; margin-left: 8px;">Business strategy and proposal writing</li></ul> Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $136000 - $231200 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
