Business Analyst Intern at Asymptote Capital

About the Role We are seeking a Business Analyst Intern to support business strategy, market research, data analysis, and operational decision-making. This role is ideal for a highly analytical student who enjoys working with data, identifying business trends, and translating quantitative insights into actionable recommendations. You will work closely with management and cross-functional teams and have the opportunity to contribute to real business and investment-related projects. Responsibilities * Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis to support business and strategic decisions * Collect, clean, organize, and analyze data from internal and external sources * Build and maintain Excel/Google Sheets models, dashboards, and analytical reports * Perform market, industry, and competitor research * Analyze business performance, KPIs, revenue, costs, and operational metrics * Identify trends, opportunities, and potential business risks through data analysis * Prepare presentations and concise reports for management * Support financial and business modeling, forecasting, and scenario analysis * Assist with ad hoc research and analytical projects * Collaborate with team members across business, finance, operations, and research functions Qualifications Required * Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills * Strong proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets * Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with large datasets * Strong written and verbal communication skills * Ability to independently research unfamiliar topics and synthesize findings * Comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment Preferred * Experience with Python, SQL, R, Tableau, Power BI, or other data-analysis tools * Experience with financial modeling or business analytics * Familiarity with financial markets, investment research, or technology companies * Previous experience with market research, consulting, finance, or analytics * Strong presentation and data visualization skills What You Will Gain * Hands-on experience solving real business problems using data * Exposure to business strategy, financial analysis, and market research * Experience working directly with senior team members * Opportunities to develop quantitative analysis and financial modeling skills * Experience in an entrepreneurial and research-driven environment * Potential opportunity for continued employment based on performance
