Technical Associate I, Tsai Lab

TECHNICAL ASSOCIATE 1, Picower Institute for Learning and Memory, Tsai Lab, to assist with creation, maintenance, and experimentation using human-induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs). Will work closely with several researchers to create differentiated neurovascular cell types such as neural progenitor cells, mature neurons, astrocytes, microglia and endothelial cells from iPSCs and ESCs. Much time will be spent on the maintenance of cell lines, including media changes, subculturing/splitting, transference of cell colonies, and basic microscopy. Duties include creating specialized media formulation and maintaining an inventory of stem cell reagents and stock chemicals; preparing specialized culturing surfaces and maintaining a well-organized inventory of cell lines stored in liquid nitrogen; and routine stem cell core maintenance. Will work under the supervision of lab managers and the manager of the Picower Institute iPSC Core Facility.
