Job Description We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Hardware Engineering Leader to develop and champion a technical strategy aligned with evolving internal & external customer needs and future market opportunities for PS Hardware, ASIC/FPGA and MicroElectronics Packaging solutions. The ideal candidate is a proven technical leader with in-depth domain knowledge, a strong customer focus, and the ability to foster collaboration across a complex matrixed organization. You will be a key interface with internal stakeholders including business development and program management. This role will also interface with the Services, platform primes, and mission system integrators to align customer needs with internal BAE Systems technology roadmaps. Familiarity with Department of War (DoW) requirements, acquisition processes, and experience with precision guided munitions, radar seeker, EOIR seeker military GPS, and/or avionics is highly desirable.<h2 style="margin-top:11px; margin-bottom:5px">Key Responsibilities</h2><ul style="margin-bottom:11px"><li style="margin-left:8px">Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive technical roadmap integrating current programs with research and development initiatives, driving holistic technical direction and innovation.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Cross-Business Collaboration: Enable business growth by collaborating effectively across business areas to leverage synergies and maximize enterprise impact.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Technology Vision: Drive technology innovation through the strategic alignment of Tech Strategy, IRAD, and Collaboration Activities to reduce product investment and introduce disruptive technologies.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Customer Engagement: Lead technical discussions with current and potential customers, developing impactful white papers and presentations to drive business growth.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">R&D Transition: Collaborate with our FastLabs organization to accelerate the transition of cutting-edge technologies into our products.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Integrated Business Planning (IBP): Support IBP objectives through leadership in leverage, technical strategy, IRAD process, technical collaboration, and IP portfolio management.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Team Leadership & Development: Coach, mentor, and develop engineering talent, building a robust pipeline for future success.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">External Partnerships: “Be the point” for collaborations with Universities, Institutes, SBIRs, VC, Tech Scouting, FAST Labs, Empower, and industry partners.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Technical Roadmap Development: Create and maintain technical roadmaps informed by deep mission understanding, customer roadmaps, competitor assessments, and collaboration efforts.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">IP Management: Serve as the primary steward for intellectual property, including capture, management, and opportunity identification for licensing, royalty, and acquisitions.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px; margin-left:8px">Proposal Support: Provide technical leadership and support for white paper/RFI/RFP/proposal development and reviews.</li></ul>Required Education, Experience, & Skills <ul style="margin-bottom:11px"><li style="margin-left:8px">Bachelor's Degree in a technical field and a minimum of 12 years' applicable experience</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Proven experience developing and maintaining product and/or technology roadmaps in the technical areas of relevant hardware, ASIC/FPGA and/or MicroElectronics/Packaging.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Proven experience collaborating with customers to define and deliver hardware engineering products and solutions such as precision guided munition, navigation, avionics, and/or display technology solutions.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Demonstrated ability to develop and articulate a compelling technical vision to customers, business leadership, and engineering teams.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Strong understanding of the DoW acquisition process and experience with new business capture.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Deep understanding of Precision Strike missions, technologies, and customers including a strong understanding of the operational challenges and requirements faced by warfighters.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px; margin-left:8px">Solid understanding of open system architectures and modular design principles.</li></ul>Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills <ul style="margin-bottom:11px"><li style="margin-left:8px">Understanding of the DoW acquisition process and experience with new business capture.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Experience with research and development programs, including technology transition and maturation.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing engineering teams.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px; margin-left:8px">Experience with RF technologies, including GPS, radar and EOIR seekers.</li></ul> Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $153377 - $260743 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
