<h1 style="text-align:start">Lab Manager / Research Associate</h1>Location: Boston, MA Pay: $39.00 per hour Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM Work Setting: Full-time, fully on-site<h2 style="text-align:start">Position Overview</h2>We are seeking a Lab Manager / Research Associate to support an Analytical Development (AD) team in a fast-paced laboratory environment. This position combines laboratory operations and management responsibilities with hands-on biological assay work supporting biologics-related Analytical Development activities.The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working collaboratively while managing laboratory safety, inventory, workflow requests, and routine assay execution.<h2 style="text-align:start">Key Responsibilities</h2><h3 style="text-align:start">Laboratory Management</h3><ul><li>Ensure the Analytical Development team follows laboratory safety requirements and appropriate waste-disposal procedures.</li><li>Serve as the primary point of contact with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) on behalf of the Analytical Development team.</li><li>Oversee laboratory inventory, including purchasing, receiving, storing, and allocating laboratory equipment, supplies, reagents, and consumables.</li><li>Develop and manage a laboratory request intake and triage system using tools such as Microsoft Teams or Smartsheet.</li><li>Collect and organize non-urgent laboratory requests and coordinate prioritization with laboratory managers and key stakeholders.</li><li>Track requests through completion and help improve workflow efficiency while reducing unnecessary interruptions to laboratory operations.</li><li>Support the routine organization and management of laboratory materials and resources.</li></ul><h3 style="text-align:start">Research Associate / Analytical Development</h3><ul><li>Execute functional potency bioassays supporting Analytical Development activities.</li><li>Perform potency testing using ELISA, plate-based assay platforms, and flow cytometry as needed.</li><li>Support biologics-related Analytical Development workstreams through routine assay execution and data collection.</li><li>Assist with assay troubleshooting, optimization, and performance trending under the guidance of laboratory management.</li><li>Maintain assay raw-data trackers and perform basic data analysis.</li><li>Maintain clear, accurate, and complete documentation in electronic laboratory notebooks (ELNs) and test forms.</li><li>Support routine management of assay reagents, consumables, and laboratory materials.</li><li>Operate a variety of laboratory equipment and maintain organized, accurate records of laboratory activities.</li></ul><h2 style="text-align:start">Qualifications</h2><ul><li>Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Cell & Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related scientific discipline.</li><li>At least 2 years of relevant industry or regulated-laboratory experience preferred.</li><li>Candidates with a Master’s degree and 0–2+ years of industry experience may also be considered.</li><li>Experience in the cell and gene therapy space is preferred.</li><li>Experience with sample management and ELN/LIMS systems is preferred.</li></ul><h2 style="text-align:start">Required Skills & Knowledge</h2><ul><li>Experience with laboratory equipment such as:<ul><li>Multichannel pipettes</li><li>Centrifuges</li><li>Microscopes</li><li>Plate readers</li><li>Plate washers</li><li>Flow cytometers</li></ul></li><li>Strong organizational and time-management skills.</li><li>Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.</li><li>Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills.</li><li>Ability to work effectively and collaboratively within a team environment.</li><li>Strong attention to detail and commitment to laboratory safety and accurate documentation.</li></ul><h2 style="text-align:start">Schedule & Work Environment</h2><ul><li>Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM</li><li>Fully on-site laboratory position</li><li>No alternate shift currently available</li><li>Training will be provided as needed based on the candidate's experience and role requirements.</li></ul><h2 style="text-align:start">Compensation</h2>$39.00 per hourThis is an excellent opportunity for a laboratory professional who enjoys a combination of hands-on biological research, assay execution, laboratory operations, safety, inventory management, and cross-functional collaboration.
