Job Description BAE Systems is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for designing and testing mechanical solutions for extreme and dynamic electronic military systems. This role requires a strong background in mechanical engineering, excellent leadership and communication skills, and a proven track record of the design phase through to the Qualification phase, including experience with mechanical testing such as prototype testing, environmental qualification (random & sinusoidal vibration, shock, thermal cycling, humidity), and testing to MIL-STD-810 and other relevant military standards. Key Responsibilities:<ul style="margin-bottom:11px"><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Experience with mechanical design, analysis and testing, utilizing strong problem-solving skills to execute complex projects.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Provide mechanical oversight for projects consisting of complex modules, or complex LRUs/boxes.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Collaborate across disciplines to ensure cost, schedule, technical performance, and risks are fully understood and addressed.</li></ul>Required Education, Experience, & Skills Education, Experience, & Skills<ul style="margin-bottom:11px; list-style-type:circle"><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Experience: 6+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a demonstrated ability to lead complex hardware development through the full lifecycle (IRAD/Proposal to Qual Phase).</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Strong background in mechanical design, analysis and testing.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Experience with mechanical testing such as prototype testing, environmental qualification (random & sinusoidal vibration, shock, thermal cycling, humidity), and testing to MIL-STD-810 and other relevant military standards</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Proven ability to work individually or in small team environments and execute complex projects with little to no programmatic support.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Must be a US Citizen; with active DoD Security Clearance.</li></ul>Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills Preferred Skills & Professional Attributes<ul><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Self-Sufficiency & Resourcefulness: Ability to work independently, drive tasks to completion, and take ownership of deliverables with minimal oversight.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Collaborative Growth Mindset: A proactive approach to professional development, including the discernment to recognize when a challenge requires additional expertise and the willingness to seek help or collaborate with others to find the best solution.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Standards: Advance Knowledge of MIL specs and industry standards (VITA, SOSA, ASTM, SAE, DO).</li></ul> Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $118095 - $200762 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
