They will have engineering responsibilities supporting the definition, design, development, integration & test of electro-optic systems for airborne, and ground, imaging surveillance systems.  This role has both programmatic and technical responsibilities with challenging timelines, working to achieve a collective goal: deliver innovative solutions within schedule and budget constraints. Essential Functions: Lead one or more cross functional teams typically with 4-10 membersDeliver to program cost and schedule goalsPlan and request team members in support of current and projected programs       Help define total systems design, technology, and processes to meet mission requirementsCoordinate across functional engineering areas to design, develop and test products, resolve compatibility and interface problems across all subsystemsPerform project capacity planning in conjunction with other project leaders and functional managersUtilize department capabilities such as Simulation, Modeling, Design, Agile Development, Integration & TestSupport business development activities including bid & proposal cost/schedule generationEvaluate performance measures and ensure system requirements are met    Perform subsystem integration, technical risk assessment, technical planning, verification and validation, and supportability analysesUnderstand, implement, & audit engineering processes on programs and projectsCreate and update essential engineering documents including processes, specifications, reports, plans, technical memos, and presentationsRepresent engineering organization both internal and external to the organizationMust be able to communicate clearly (written and verbal) to technical and non-technical personnelAbility to obtain US government clearance Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. Preferred Additional Skills: Management of engineering projectsBroad knowledge of Risk Management tools and techniquesSkilled knowledge of Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS).Understanding of the design and development of electro-optical/infrared systems and associated opto-mechanical technologyExperience with Electrical, Optical, Mechanical, Software and Systems EngineeringFront-end concept development for new productsModel Based Systems Engineering, Digital Engineering, & Agile DevelopmentSystem-level performance analysis (e.g., image analysis, thermal analysis, structural analysis, end-to-end performance, reliability analysis)Hardware/Software design, integration, testing, and troubleshootingProject Engineering/Program Management of aerospace products with multi-site development teamsUnderstanding of defense products and platformsEngineering Project Management – A track record of managing diverse & distributed personnel developing complex technology.
