Job Description:
GTM Consumer Insights Analyst Intern
We're seeking talented students to join Sonos's Internship Program and explore what it means to blend creativity, technology, and sound. Our co-ops are an essential part of our team, bringing fresh ideas, learning from experts, and helping us push the boundaries of what's possible. Come broaden your skills, share your input and pursue your passion with our 11-week internship experience.
Work Period:
June 7 - August 20, 2027
Location & Schedule:
This is a 40-hour-per-week position with a minimum of 4 days per week onsite in our Boston, MA office. There is no relocation or housing assistance for this position.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Help build a repeatable framework for competitive intelligence: a reporting structure that shows how Sonos and our competition go to market, then share 1-2 rounds of findings as it takes shape
Dig into how competing brands show up: where they advertise, how much they're talking (share of voice), the tone, the messaging, the creative they use, and then show how that compares to Sonos
Pull in earned media data (press and social coverage) and work with our media teams to find what other platform metrics we can tap into
Where we don't have the data yet, figure out the best sources and workarounds: desk research, downloadable reports, or a simple collection of ads and creative in one shared spot
Use AI tools like Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini to build repeatable processes, like a monthly web scrape or an organized library of competitor content, and check the output before you rely on it
Partner with Product Marketing, Product Management, and Go-To-Market to learn where we compete for the same customers, where strategies differ, and how we can position Sonos to win. Share what you learn at the end of the summer
SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES
Basic Qualifications
Curious about how brands target their customers, tell their story, and why people pick one brand over another
Comfortable using Excel, Google Sheets, and Google Drive to organize and compare information
Clear writer who can explain findings in concise, plain language
Self-starter who asks questions and stays on track when the path isn't fully mapped out
Eager to learn from people across teams
Preferred Qualifications
Hands-on with AI tools like Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini to build, automate, or solve a problem. Experience from class, work, or on your own
Exposure to SQL or Snowflake, or just comfortable working with data
Coursework or projects in marketing, consumer behavior, or research methods
Familiar with social media and advertising platforms
Interest in consumer electronics, audio, or the tech industry
PROGRAM QUALIFICATIONS
Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program at a College or University in a related field of study, with expected graduation date of Winter 2027/2028 or Spring 2028/2029.
Available to participate in our full-time co-op program from June 7 - August 20, 2027
Ability to work out of our Boston office a minimum 4 days per week
Applicants must be authorized to work for any US employer, both now and in the future. Sonos is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this role at this time.
