Job Description:
Position Summary/ Department Summary:The Computational Neuroscience Laboratory, led by Dr. Caterina Stamoulis, is seeking a highly motivated, full-time Research Assistant. The Research Assistant will work on a project that aims to characterize typical and atypical development of brain circuit dynamics from birth to young adulthood. The project lies at the intersection of Computational Neuroscience and Data Science and involves the integration of multiple brain datasets. This is an excellent opportunity to work at a teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School, become involved in Computational Neuroscience research, and learn cutting-edge computational techniques. This position is looking for someone to start ASAP. Key Responsibilities:Independently develop large-scale computer codes, almost exclusively using the software MATLAB, and implement novel algorithms for characterizing brain circuit and structural characteristics.Analyze large volumes of fMRI, and diffusion MRI data.Develop statistical models for longitudinal analyses.Maintain and expand the capabilities of a novel computational platform for analysis of very large brain datasets.Participate as co-author in manuscripts and conference abstracts.Minimum QualificationsEducation:Bachelor of Science in degree in Neuroscience, Biological/Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering (with a focus on Signal Processing) or Physics is required. Coursework in computational Neuroscience (if pursuing a degree in Neuroscience) is preferred, If not a Neuroscience graduate, basic coursework in Neuroscience is preferred. Experience:Experience in MATLAB programming and ability to independently write codes is required. At least 1 year of research experience is preferred.Experience in analysis of human brain data is heavily preferred.Experience in fMRI or dMRI data processing is preferred.
