The BAE Systems Advanced Technology Team (ATT) is at the forefront of this transformation, enabling next-generation digital engineering solutions that support high-impact, mission-critical programs. We are seeking a Model-Based Systems Engineer to join our ATT Modeling & Simulation team, working in a collaborative and fast-paced environment to develop and maintain system architecture models that power a modern digital engineering environment. In this role, you will focus on building refining, and evolving SysML models, while supporting the transition from of legacy, document-based systems into modern model-based representation. Key Responsibilities:<ul style="margin-bottom:11px"><li style="margin-left:8px">Develop and maintain SysML system architecture models in Cameo Systems Modeler</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Translate system requirements and design artifacts into clear, structured, and high-quality models</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Support the digital transformation of heritage systems into modern model-based systems engineering (MBSE) frameworks</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Collaborate with configuration management (CM), requirements, and cross-functional engineering teams to ensure model alignment and consistency</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Implement model updates and changes through established workflows (e.g. Jira ticketing and change management processes)</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Continuously refine and improve models to ensure clarity, usability, and technical accuracy</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Ensure models are structured to support downstream simulation, analysis, and integration activities</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px; margin-left:8px">Contribute to modeling standards, best practices, and overall model quality across the program</li></ul>Required Education, Experience, & Skills <ul><li style="margin-left:8px">Typically a Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering or Computer Science discipline with 2+ years of experience</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Strong and confident communication/presentation skills</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and SysML</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Experience using modeling tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler or similar</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Strong attention to detail and ability to create clear, structured system models</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Experience in being part of a multidisciplinary project team</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Must be a US citizen and able to obtain a Secret level clearance</li></ul>Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills <ul><li>Experience supporting digital transformation efforts from document-based to model-based systems</li><li>Familiarity with configuration management and requirements management processes</li><li>Experience working with Jira or similar ticketing/workflow tools</li><li>Experience supporting modeling efforts for simulation or analytics integration</li><li>Experience working in DoD environments</li><li>Already holds active Secret level clearance</li></ul> Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $79365 - $134921 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
